2023 - Round 19 Results - The Edges Are Done, and Most of the Sky

Whilst the jigsaw of which teams feature in the 2023 Grand Final remains far from completed, I think we made significant progress this weekend, which was one in which the Head-to-Head Tipsters fared pretty well.

In fact, four of them tipped the card, and most bagged at least 7 from 9. The two leaders registered 8 from 9 results, which left MoSHBODS_Marg still one tip ahead of MoSHPlay_Marg, and now on 117 from 162 (72%). ENS_Linear, who was one of the Tipsters to bag all 9, snagged 3rd place in so doing and is now on 115 from 162 (71%) and just two tips off the lead.

The all-Tipster average for the round was 8.1 from 9, which took the all-season figure to 110.3 from 162 (68%).

The Margin Predictors’ mean absolute errors (MAEs) were very much lower this week and covered a range from MoSHPlay_Marg’s 14.8 points per game to Bookie_9’s 19.7 points per game, with the all-Predictor average coming in at 18.1 points per game per Predictor, which is more than 6 points lower than last week.

MoSHPlay_Marg significantly extended its lead over Bookie_LPSO, which now stands at almost 11 goals. Ultimately there were no ranking changes on the Leaderboard.

Log probability scores were all positive again this week, and highest once more for MoSHPlay_Prob, which allowed it to retain 1st place on the Leaderboard. MoSHBODS_Prob again also did well, but remains 3rd, whilst MoSSBODS_Prob recorded the round’s worst log probabiliity score but still sits in 2nd place.

WAGERING

The week’s results were good enough for a small profit, as both the Line Fund and Overs/Unders Fund registered black ink, while the Head-to-Head Fund lost its sole wager.

Altogether, the Combined Portfolio rose by 0.3c, which left it up by 11.5c on the season, that from a 14% ROT on a 0.81 turn.
