2021 - Round 17 Results - Not Good Enough

Well, that was carnage.

Only four favourites won this week, and the Head-to-Head Tipsters collectively averaged just 3.2 from 9, with no Tipster doing better than 4 from 9. One of the Tipsters registering that top score was, however, MoSSBODS_Marg, which was a score good enough to allow it to establish a two tip lead on the pack. It’s now on 97.5 from 144 (68%) and two tips clear of its siblings.

MoSHPlay_Marg, for the second week running, recorded the round’s best mean absolute error (MAE) amongst the Margin Predictors, which this week was a relatively high 34.2 points per game but good enough to lift it into 4th place on the Leaderboard.

There was also some movement further down the Leaderboard, with ENS_Linear and Bookie_LPSO climbing above the RSMP twins.

The all-Predictor MAE was 36.1 points per game, up by about another 5.5 points per game on the previous week’s average.

Log probability scores were sharply negative for all the Head-to-Head Probability Predictors, with the least negative score being registered by Bookie_OE who now sits in 4th on the Leaderboard. MoSHPlay_Prob’s score was only slightly more negative and sufficiently high to move it past MoSHBODS_Prob and into 1st place.

WAGERS

For the third week in a row, the Dogs’ performance has a significant bearing on Investors’ fate, and this week it was a major contributor to the worst single round performance of the season.

All three Funds registered a loss as only 2 of 8 wagers proved to be collects.

The overall loss for the Combined Portfolio for the round was 3.3c, which moved it to a season-long profit of 10.7c, that from a +13% ROT on a 0.825 turn.
