MatterOfStats 2023 : Team Dashboard for Round 2

It’s still far too early to be making much of the Ranking on Dashboard metrics data, which appears below, but it is interesting to note that:

• Three of the teams in the Top 8 of the Competition Ladder are in the bottom 8 on scoring

• Ladder position is positively rank-correlated with every metric on the Dashboard, but especially with the rankings on MoS Win Production, Quarters won, and points concession

Next, the full Team Dashboard, which shows that:

• Sydney are yet to lose a quarter and have outscored their opponents by about 2.5 to 3:1 in Q1s, Q2s, and Q3s

• St Kilda have outscored their opponents by over 6:1 in Q4s

• Collingwood have outscored their opponents by over 5:1 in Q4s

• Melbourne have outscored their opponents by almost 4:1 in Q4s

• Hawthorn have scored only 4% of their points in Q3s

• Western Bulldogs have scored almost half of their points in Q2s
