The latest Rankings on Dashboard Metrics table appears below, and continues to show some surprisingly low rank correlation between the teams’ ladder positions and their rank on particular metrics, specifically:

  • Opponent Scoring Shot Conversion: -0.08

  • Q4 Performances: +0.06

  • Own Scoring Shot Conversion: +0.14

  • Q2 Performances: +0.31

  • Q3 Performances: +0.53

  • Conceded Goals per Game: +0.56

There are far larger, and more expected, correlations for:

  • The MoS Win Production Function: +0.89

  • Own Scoring: Points +0.88 / Goals +0.86

  • Scoring Shots Conceded: +0.81

  • Scoring Shots Generated: +0.76

  • Points Conceded: +0.76

  • Percent of Quarters Won: +0.73

The full Team Dashboard appears below, and shows that:

  • Geelong are still yet to win a Q2, and Melbourne a Q3.

  • North Melbourne have still scored over 60% of their points in the second half of games, Collingwood almost two-thirds in the first half, and Sydney just under 60% and the Gold Coast 65% in Q2 and Q3 combined

  • Port Adelaide is now the only team to have outscored their opponents in all four quarters taken individually

  • Adelaide remain the only team that has been outscored by their opponents in all four quarters taken individually

  • Geelong has now registered 1 goal more than Adelaide has registered scoring shots, and Collingwood has conceded only 5 scoring shots more than Adelaide has conceded goals

  • Carlton has won only one quarter fewer than Port Adelaide, and one more than the Brisbane Lions.
