Based on the latest Team Dashboard statistics, those most correlated with teams’ competition ladder position (adjusted for games played) are now:

  • Teams’ ranking on Points Scored per Game (+0.90)

  • Teams’ ranking on the MoS Win Prediction Function (+0.87)

  • Teams’ ranking on Own Scoring Shots per Game (+0.87)

  • Teams’ ranking on Goals Scored per Game (+0.86)

  • Teams’ ranking on % of Quarters Won (+0.85)

  • Teams’ ranking on Q1 Performances (+0.81)

  • Teams’ ranking on Opponent Scoring Shots per Game (+0.77)

The full Team Dashboard appears below and shows that:

  • Melbourne, despite sitting 9th on the ladder, are the team with the highest percentage for any quarter (200 for Q4s)

  • Only Port Adelaide has outscored their opponents in every quarter

  • Only Adelaide has been outscored by their opponents in every quarter

  • GWS has scored 60% of its points in second halfs

  • Geelong has scored 58% of its points in second halfs

  • St Kilda has scored 58% of its points in first halfs
