2022 - Round 7 Results - Losing My Momentum
/Only five favourites won this week, and that, coupled with the low level of contrarian head-to-head tipping, made for little movement on the Head-to-Head Tipster Leaderboard.
The all-Tipster average was 5.1 from 9, dragged up only by Consult The Ladder’s haul of 7. MoSHBODS_Marg and MoSSBODS_Marg still head the list, now on 44 from 63 (70%).
Amongst the Margin Predictors, honours went to ENS_Linear this week with a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) of 30.7 points per game, although this wasn’t enough to move it out of last place on the Leaderboard.
That Leaderboard is now headed by MoSHPlay_Marg, who this week nudged MoSSBODS_Marg back into 2nd place as MoSSBODS_Marg recorded the round’s worst MAE of 35.1 points per game.
Log probability scores were all positive again this week, but this time with the bookmaker-based trio outperforming the MoS trio. Notwithstanding this, the top of the Leaderboard still sees MoSHBODS_Prob in first, ahead of MoSHPlay_Prob and then MoSSBODS_Prob.
WAGERING
Four bets with no collects meant that Investors endured their second unprofitable round of the season as all three Funds recorded red ink.
The overall round loss for the Combined Portfolio was 1.7c, which moved it to a season-long profit of 24c, that from a +52.3% ROT on a 0.46 turn. Let’s hope the mean regression god has now been placated.
