And So It Begins Anew

The pre-season finished on Friday night and by Saturday morning TAB Sportsbet had the markets up for Round 1 of the season proper though it was still 12 days until the first centre-bounce. That's confidence in your market-framing abilities.

In six of the eight games the favourite's priced at $1.55 or longer so, if the bookie's correct, we should be in for a round of close contests. The tightest contests are at this point expected to be Geelong ($2.05) vs St Kilda ($1.72), and Adelaide ($2.05) vs Hawthorn ($1.72). The greatest mismatches are projected to be Carlton ($1.35) vs Richmond ($3.05), and, more dramatically, Collingwood ($1.06) vs Port Adelaide ($8.00).

Assuming that these prices prevail until I lock the wagers in some time around the 23rd, and assuming that the points start are approximately what I project them to be based on these prices, Investors will be in for a busy Round 1 with six head-to-head wagers and seven line bets.

Reminders

If any Investors are considering changes to the size of their Investment, please let me know soon so that I can wager accordingly on the 23rd. Also, there are a couple of Investors for whom I don't have current e-mail details, so if you've not received an e-mail from me this year please send an e-mail to tony AT corkeco DOT com with your new details

Finally, a reminder to all readers that you can subscribe to e-mail notifications by typing your e-mail details into the box in the Subscribe to MAFL Online section on the left of the screen. A confirmatory e-mail will then be sent to your e-mail with instructions for establishing your subscription. Once you are subscribed you will receive an e-mail notification whenever a new post is made on any of the four MAFL blogs. You'll also get the first paragraph of the blog entry, on the basis of which you can decide whether or not to visit the website for the entire entry.
