MatterOfStats 2021 : Team Dashboard for Round 8

Below is the latest Ranking on Dashboard Metrics data, which still shows mostly the same relationships between competition ladder position and ranking on ket metrics as it did last week.

Melbourne, amazingly, sit 9th on Own Scoring Shot Conversion, 13th on Opponent Scoring Shot Conversion, 13th on Q1 performances, and 8th on Q3 performances, while three of the top 5 teams on Own Scoring Shot Conversion lie 15th through 17th on the competition ladder.

The full Team Dashboard appears below, a few of the interesting things from which are that:

• Western Bulldogs are yet to lose a Q1

• Adelaide is still yet to win a Q3

• Gold Coast have scored 35% of their points in Q3s, and 60% in Q2s and Q3s combined

• Sydney have also scored 60% of their points in Q2s and Q3s

• Geelong have scored 33% of their points in Q3s

• Essendon have more points and more goals than every other team in the competition except the Western Bulldogs

• The teams now in the Top 8 have only 9 losses between them across the last 4 rounds

• West Coast have recorded 58.5% of their Scoring Shots as goals

• Collingwood’s opponents have registered 60.9% of their Scoring Shots as goals
