MatterOfStats 2015 : Team Dashboard for Round 9

This week, the Eagles became the first team to crack 1,000 points for the season though for large parts of Sunday's game they seemed determined to follow George Hirst's advice to Wilfred Rhodes from over 100 years ago that they might "do it in singles"

Despite racking up 24 behinds in that game, the Eagles still managed to register enough 6-pointers this week to lead all-comers in terms of goals kicked during the season. Hawthorn, who are second on that metric are also second in terms of the number of behinds registered, their 122 behinds just one adrift of GWS' 123. The Hawks also, though sitting 6th on the ladder, have the competition's third-best percentage.

Geelong have recorded the fewest behinds of any team this season with 87, though six other teams have registered between 88 and 91 of them, so their title is far from secure..

Geelong also, boosted by the 24 behinds conceded to the Eagles in their game, now sit comfortably 1st in terms of behinds conceded. They've allowed 130 behinds in total across their 9 games this season, which is 17 or almost 2 per game more than the second-placed St Kilda.

Fewest behinds have been conceded by West Coast (75), this another metric on which the Hawks lie 2nd (78).

Carlton have conceded the most goals of any team (153), whilst Fremantle have conceded the fewest (78), this the only of the scoring metrics amongst those just discussed for which the best and worst teams are also top and bottom of the competition ladder.
