Only five early-week favourites bagged the four points this week, but only ENS_Linear and MoSHPlay_Marg managed better than five and they, as a result, have moved into joint 2nd and now just one tip behind Bookie Knows Best.

Two other Tipsters, MoSSBODS_Marg and Consult the Ladder, scored only four, which levelled the all-Tipster average for the round at exactly 5 from 9. That took the season-long figure to 47.3 from 72 (66%).

Margin prediction was stronger again this week, with mean absolute errors (MAEs) ranging from Bookie_9’s 18.9 points per game to MoSSBODS_Marg’s 22.6, with the all-Predictor average coming in at 20.2 points per game, which is down by over 5 points per game on last week.

Bookie_9’s performance saw it leap one places on the Leaderboard and into 6th. Elsewhere on the Leaderboard, the only other changes were Bookie_LPSO grabbing 1st and relegating Bookie_3 to 2nd, and ENS_Linear to 3rd.

MoSHPlay_Marg remains best of the MoS trio and is still about 10 goals off the lead.

Log probability scores were all mildly positive this week except for MoSSBODS_Prob, and roughly the same for all bookmaker-based forecasters. Bookie_LPSO retained 1st place ahead of Bookie_RE. Worst is still MoSSBODS_Prob, who lies in 6th. MoSHPlay_Prob, still in 4th, remains the best of the MoS trio.

WAGERING

Round 8 was yet another loss-making rounds for Investors, though some Sunday joy conspired to keep the size of the loss to something very manageable.

Both main Funds, Head-to-Head and Line, lost money, and, overall, the Combined Portfolio finished down by almost 3c. it is now down by just under 15c on the season, that from a -11% ROT on a 1.4 turn.
