2024 - Round 17 Results - Yeah Nah, Nah
For the second week running, only four of the nine early-week favourites were successful over the weekend, but that didn’t hinder Home Sweet Home, who returned a competition-leading 8 from 9 for the round, ahead of Consult The Ladder’s 6 from 9, and ENS_Linear’s 5 from 9.
The remaining Head-to-Head Tipsters all recorded 4 from 9, which left MoSHPlay_Marg still atop the Leaderboard by one tip from the RSMP twins and two from MoSHBODS_Marg and now ENS_Linear.
1st and 7th remain separated by just 3 tips, and the all-Tipster average for the round was 4.8 from 9, which took the season-long figure to 90,1 from 144 (63%).
Margin prediction this week was a little stronger this week, with mean absolute errors (MAEs) ranging from Bookie_9’s 22.6 points per game to MoSSBODS_Marg’s 27.9 points per game, with the all-Predictor average coming in at 24.5 points per game, which is just over 1 point per game better than last week. The season-long all-predictor average is now 26.7 points per game per predictor.
There were a number of movements on the Leaderboard, the most dramatic being MoSHPlay_Marg’s fall from 3rd to 6th, and Bookie_9’s climb from 5th to 3rd.
The gap between 1st and 8th is now just over 42 points.
Log probability scores were all bear zero and fairly similar this week, but slightly higher for the bookie-based forecasters. Such is the closeness of this competition, that result has allowed Bookie_LPSO to take 1st place on the Leaderboard, Bookie_RE to take 2nd, and Bookie_OE to take 3rd, relegating MoSHPlay_Prob to 4th.
WAGERING
It was a fourth straight loss for Investors this week, matching the four-week streak from Rounds 5 to 8, and unfortunately a but more value-destroying.
All three Funds returned a loss for the fifth time this season.
Overall, the Combined Portfolio finished down by just under 4c, which leaves it down now by 21.3c, that from a -9% ROT on a 2.4 turn.
