2022 - Round 7 : Overs/Unders

HIgh levels of agreement again this week between the MoS twins and the bookmakers, with the average absolute difference in Totals around 4 to 5 points per game.

There is, nonetheless and yet again, still quite a bit of difference in the choice of highests and lowest, at least at the match, if not the team, level:

HIGHEST SCORING GAME

  • MoSSBODS, MoSHBODS: Carlton v Kangaroos

  • TAB and Sportsbet: Western Bulldogs v Essendon

LOWEST SCORING GAME

  • MoSSBODS, MoSHBODS: Melbourne v Hawthorn

  • TAB: Geelong v Fremantle

  • Sportsbet: Sydney v Brisbane Lions

HIGHEST SCORING TEAM

  • All: Carlton

LOWEST SCORING TEAM

  • All: Hawthorn

No team is expected by any of the forecasters to register three figures this week.

WAGERS

Only two wagers again this week, both of them unders, after a third, overs, wager was passed in because of the forecast showers in Sydney on Sunday.

The estimated overlays on the two wagers are just 7.5 and 10 points.

PREVIOUS RESULTS

Round 6 was a reasonably good one for MoSHBODS in terms of the Mean Absolute Error (MAE) results, and saw it record the lowest MAE for Game Margins and Home Team Scores. MoSSBODS was best on Away Team Scores, and the two bookmakers shared the honours for Game Totals.

That left MoSSBODS now with pnly the season-long best MAE for Game Margins, MoSHBODS best for Home Team Scores, the TAB still with the season-long best MAE for Away Team Scores, and the TAB and Sportsbet still tied on the Game Totals metric.

MoSSBODS went 1 and 1 on its two under wagers with the TAB, moving it to a 10 and 5 record for the season. It remains 1 and 1 against Sportsbet.

Across all games, MoSSBODS recorded a 2 from 9 result against the TAB, moving it to 25 from 54 (46%) for the season, and also a 2 from 9 result against Sportsbet, moving it to 24 from 54 (44%) for the season.

MoSHBODS recorded a 4 from 9 result against the TAB, moving it to 28 from 54 (52%) for the season against them, and a 3 from 9 result against Sportsbet, moving it to 22 from 54 (41%) for the season against them.
