2022 - Round 5 : Overs/Unders

This week the MoS twins are seeing lower totals than are the bookmakers for all but a couple of games, which has left their all-game average about 4 to 5 points under the bookmakers’.

There is, nonetheless, still quite a bit of agreement in the highests and lowests:

HIGHEST SCORING GAME

  • MoSSBODS & MoSHBODS : Adelaide v Richmond

  • TAB and Sportsbet: Brisbane Lions v Collingwood (and Adelaide v Richmond for the TAB)

LOWEST SCORING GAME

  • MoSSBODS, TAB and Sportsbet: West Coast v Sydney (and Melbourne v GWS for the TAB)

  • MoSHBODS: Melbourne v GWS

HIGHEST SCORING TEAM

  • MoSSBODS: Melbourne

  • MoSHBODS, TAB and Sportsbet: Brisbane Lions

LOWEST SCORING TEAM

  • All: North Melbourne

MoSHBODS (if rounded) and the two bookmakers have Brisbane Lions scoring 100 points this week, and the TAB adds Western Bulldogs to that list.

WAGERS

Five wagers again this week, though all of them unders, so none of them able to be adversely affected by weather.

Estimated overlays are all in the 6.5 to 8 points range, so none of the wagers are assessed by MoSSBODS as representing exceptional value.

PREVIOUS RESULTS

Round 4 saw MoSSBODS record the lowest Mean Absolute Error (MAE) for Game Margins, Home Team Scores, and Away Team Scores, and Sportsbet do the same for Game Totals.

That left MoSSBODS with the season-long best MAE for Game Margins, Home Team Scores, and Game Totals, and the TAB still with the season-long best MAE for Away Team Scores.

MoSSBODS went 3 and 2 on its wagers with the TAB, moving it to an 8 and 2 record for the season.

Across all games, MoSSBODS recorded a 4 from 9 result against the TAB, moving it to 20 from 36 (56%) for the season, and a 3 from 9 result against Sportsbet, moving it to 19 from 36 (53%) for the season.

MoSHBODS recorded a 5 from 9 result against the TAB, moving it to 20 from 36 (56%) for the season against them, and a 3 from 9 result against Sportsbet, moving it to 16 from 36 (44%) for the season against them.
